Hear From Athletes We've Worked With

Real stories from active adults across the Front Range.

Scott helped my son work through back issues over the summer to get him ready for the fall football season. Very knowledgeable and thorough. He gave my kid plenty of information, stretches, and workouts to get back to the sport he loves. Highly recommend Backcountry PT!

Dr. Scott is great. Practical, focused, and really tailors plans to what you need. He helped me with a hamstring issue, so when my knee started acting up, it was great to go back to someone I trust. He also gave me long-term tips for lifting and training that I use in my normal routine. 5 stars!
Jessie Stanek
Arrived to Backcountry PT after seeing another PT in the area for months. Dr. Scott provided specific and timely care. He filled the empty piece of the puzzle that I had been missing. If you are a backcountry enthusiast who has been on the shelf due to injury, I highly recommenced stopping in and chatting with Dr. Scott.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions from Monument and Palmer Divide patients about the drive, our cash model, and how care works.

How Far Is the Drive from Monument to the Clinic?

The clinic is roughly 20 minutes south of Monument straight down I-25, with no city traffic on the way. For active adults already used to driving north to Denver for sports-focused care, we're a much closer option — and most patients say the drive is well worth it.

Do I Need a Referral to Start?

No. Colorado is a direct access state, so you can see a licensed physical therapist without going through your primary care doctor first. Most Monument patients start with a free discovery call to make sure Backcountry PT is the right fit for their injury and their goals.

What Kinds of Injuries Do You Work With?

Active adults come to us when running, hiking, cycling, lifting, or skiing pain keeps getting in the way of training. We specialize in sports and orthopedic care — knees, hips, shoulders, backs — and build strength-based plans designed around your sport, not generic rehab.

Is the Clinic Cash Pay?

Yes. We're a cash-based clinic, which means full one-on-one sessions with your therapist and no insurance-driven limits on session length. We provide superbills for possible out-of-network reimbursement and accept HSA and FSA. Some motor vehicle accident cases are also accepted.

Can I Stay Active While I'm in PT?

Almost always, yes. Our philosophy is that rest alone rarely solves the problem — staying active in a modified, intelligent way is usually part of the plan. We'll talk through your training and figure out what to keep, what to scale back, and what to add to come back stronger.
